Solway Lass Whitsunday Sailing Itinerary

Please note, these Itineraries are examples only, and will differ depending on wind, tides and the professional judgement of the Captain.

For convenience, all guests can do an on-line check-in to speed up time at our Check-in office. 
Check in is located at Shop 1, 4 Airlie Esplanade Airlie Beach, office hours are 7:30am to 6:30pm.
During check-in, guests will be provided with a bag to pack personal gear for the tour. 
Larger luggage which needs storage, can be stored at our office for a small fee.

Solway Lass 2 Night Island Cruise 
Departs: Saturday or Tuesday at 7:30pm
Returns: 4:30pm on Day 4
Departs: Saturday, Tuesday or Thursday at 5:30pm
Returns: 2:30pm on Day 3
Check in by latest 4:30pm, however if guests arrive in Airlie Beach earlier they are welcome to check-in. Check in by latest 3:00pm, however if guests arrive in Airlie Beach earlier they are welcome to check-in.

Day 1 (Supper)

Courtesy pickups from Airlie Beach are at 6.40pm for transfer to the marina. Depart the marina at 7.30pm and sail to overnight anchorage. Light supper is served around 9.30pm.

Day 1 (D)

Meet at the marina at 5pm, board and depart at 5:30pm, watch the sunset as we sail to the overnight anchorage. Dinner is served around 8.30pm.

Day 2 (B,L,D) - After breakfast, make way to Tongue Bay for a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout.   A spectacular lookout overlooking Whitehaven Beach.  Back on board Solway Lass enjoy lunch before heading around to North end of Whitehaven Beach.  Enjoy an hour at the beach before setting sail and heading north along the eastern side of Hook Island.  Overnight anchor in one of the many bays on Hook Island.  Day 2 (B,L,D) - After breakfast, make way to Tongue Bay for a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout.   A spectacular lookout overlooking Whitehaven Beach.  Back on board Solway Lass enjoy lunch before heading around to Whitehaven Beach.  Enjoy an hour at the beach before setting sail and heading north along the eastern side of Hook Island.  Overnight anchor in one of the many bays on Hook Island. 

Day 3 (B,L,D) - After breakfast enjoy snorkelling and/or the glass bottom boat over the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the islands. These reefs are teeming with marine life and the experience is memorable for the snorkelling novice through to seasoned snorkellers.

Enjoy lunch, before sailing off to another anchorage for a second snorkel, swim or simply relax at the beach. This evening will be spent anchored in Blue Pearl Bay of Hayman Island or in the Langford Reef Area. Both locations offer spectacular sunset photo opportunities as the Solway Lass is silhouetted against the sunset over the water.

Day 3 (B,L) - After breakfast enjoy snorkelling and/or the glass bottom boat over the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the islands. These reefs are teeming with marine life and the experience is memorable for the snorkelling novice through to seasoned snorkellers.

After snorkelling leave the islands at 11am. Set the sails and cross the Whitsunday Passage arriving back to Abell Point Marina at 2:30pm.

Services end, although many of the guests will meet up tonight for a meal at a local restaurant.

Longer itineraries for Solway Lass Private Charters  

Please note, this is a 6 night itinerary example. 
The first 4 days as above.

The itinerary is as per Days 1 to 4 above, then at 4:30pm on Tuesday afternoon, we transfer you to a restaurant in Airlie Beach.  You will be provided with a voucher for a meal and a drink.  At 6:40pm our shuttle will take you back to Solway Lass.  Light supper will be served around 9:30pm this evening.

 
Day 5 (B,L,D) - After breakfast, make way to Nara Inlet for a guided bush walk.  Back on board Solway Lass enjoy lunch before heading to South Whitehaven Beach.  Enjoy a couple of hours at the beach, take a guided bush walk up to the viewing platform overlooking Whitehaven Beach from South up to the North end. The views are spectacular, taking in Chance Bay to the Left and Whitehaven to the right. Overnight anchor at South Whitehaven.   
Day 6 (B,L,D) - Enjoy early morning views of Whitehaven Beach while enjoying breakfast. Set the sails and make way to Border Island. Border Island has a spectacular walk up the side of the island, and onto a saddle that traverses the peaks. The lookout provides spectacular views over Cataran Bay. This afternoon go snorkelling or swimming on the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of Border Island.  Maybe just laze around on Solway Lass and read a book, lay in the bow net and watch the water lap on the bow.   Mid afternoon, set the massive sails and sail to either, Luncheon Bay, Black Island or Hayman Island area.  
Day 7 (B,L) - After breakfast enjoy snorkelling, swimming or relaxing on the beach, before lunch is served on-board.  At around 1:00pm set sail and sail across the Whitsunday Passage arriving back to the marina at around 4:00pm with the courtesy shuttle transfer arriving back to Airlie Beach around 4:30pm.

Our Whitsunday Sailing Tours Include: Service of Captain and Crew, Meals, Snorkelling Equipment,
Wet Suit hire, Linen (please bring Beach Towel), Marine & National Park Fees. The following tours 
also include Local Transfers from Airlie Beach to the Marina and return: Solway Lass, 
Whitsunday Bliss & Day Tours on Southern Cross, Seasprints Whitsunday Bullet and Express. 
Itineraries can change based on weather and sea conditions and guest safety.

Please pack in a small soft bag. Note most vessels have limited storage space. 
No trolley bags can be taken on board.  
  Solway Lass, Prima and Adventurer do not allow bags with zips on board. 
 Large Bags can be stored at our office in Airlie Beach for a small fee. 

 Whitsunday Bliss does allow for larger soft sided bags. NO trolley bags please.

 What to Pack: 
Swimmers, hat, sunglasses, personal toiletries, beach towel, runners or sandals for the island walks.

 Alcohol: Solway Lass has a licenced bar on-board, so no BYO.
Drinks are sold at reasonable prices.  
 All other vessels
guests can BYO Alcohol and store in the esky on board.
