Quick Details
Boomerang is part of our fun sailing fleet, focusing mainly on the young and young-at-heart backpackers!
Race through the Whitsundays on this sleek and powerful former racing sailboat. Get involved hoisting the sails and learn how to sail the boat through the wind, or sit back and relax with your favorite beverage.
Enjoy an airy, open and comfortable interior and relax on the top deck, while lounging in the sun. Boomerang’s open-plan setting usually helps to set the scene for a vibrant social atmosphere.
Departing on a Monday, Thursday or Saturday at 14:00 (2 pm), you will leave from the Coral Sea Marina Resort (formerly the Abell Point Marina), South Village, and head out into the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Often, we stop the first afternoon for a snorkel near Hook Island Passage.
After snorkeling, you’ll get back onboard Boomerang for sunset nibbles and enjoy time to properly meet and get to know to your fellow passengers. Feast on your first dinner of the trip under the stars and then settle into a social evening of drinks with your new friends.
In the morning, wake up to breakfast on the way to Tongue Bay. Once you’ve arrived in Tongue Bay prepare to head over to Whitehaven Beach to take the iconic walk up to Hill Inlet Lookout. Enjoy Whitehaven Beach’s stunning turquoise waters and soft silica sand for a few hours before heading back to the boat.
Take your lunch as you sail to an afternoon snorkeling spot. Jump in and meet the aquatic life below. Enjoy your second night’s dinner on board with your fellow passengers and an evening out on deck delighting in the stars.
Waking up the next morning, you will enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board before heading over to a final snorkel destination. After one last chance to see the beautiful coral, enjoy a sail home as you head back into the marina.
Your trip includes all meals and snacks throughout the duration of the trip. We use locally sourced, seasonal fruits and vegetables and our crew freshly prepare each meal for you to enjoy.
Usually served as a buffet style, you can eat anywhere onboard. Meals are a great communal time to get to know your fellow travelers. Continental breakfasts, healthy, fresh and hearty lunches; BBQ dinners in true ‘Aussie’ fashion and even dessert!
