Whitsunday Explorer will take you further and see more than your usual Whitsunday sailing trip
This Whitsunday Explorer trip will allow you to immerse yourself fully into the wonders of the Whitsundays. With more time, the emphasis passes from just ‘ticking all the boxes’ to slowing down and enjoying every moment. Take the time to have a ‘digital detox’, make real connections with others and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Solway Lass is a beautifully preserved tall ship with a rich history that you’ll feel the moment you step on-board! The 119-year-old tall ship the ideal vessel for this exploration.
At 9 am depart the marina and set sail ready to explore the Whitsundays. Your first stop will be the beautiful South Molle Island, National Park for a stunning walk up to Spion Kop. This track passes an ancient Ngaro stone quarry, on the hillside and spilling toward the sea before offering spectacular views over the Whitsunday Passage. Enjoy lunch back on board before setting sail to your overnight anchorage enjoying a beautiful sunset en route.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast on the top deck surrounded by inquisitive marine life, before we set sail to the most Southern part of the Whitsunday Islands. Sailing through the Whitsunday Passage, we head down to Lindeman and Shaw Island, an area that is uncharted by shorter tours. There will be plenty of time for snorkelling, paddleboarding or jump into the aqua waters via the Tarzan rope swing. Your afternoon will be rewarded with a stunning sunset before a hearty dinner and maybe a beverage from the bar.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast on the top deck surrounded by inquisitive marine life, we set sail for Whitsunday Island the home of the number one beach in the world Whitehaven Beach. There will be plenty of time ashore for beach activities, a walk to the Southern lookout or spend time relaxing on the beach. Back on board, enjoy lunch with picturesque Whitehaven as your backdrop. Help hoist the sails as we voyage up to the Northern end of Whitehaven Beach, home of the most photographed inlet in the world, Hill Inlet. Anchorage will be in the sheltered Tongue Bay.
After breakfast, the sails will be hoisted propelling the 119-year-old tall ship to the most northern end of the Whitsunday Islands. The northern bays over fantastic snorkelling locations dotted around the north end of Hook Island. Enjoy lunch before a visit to Langford reef for another snorkel or a short walk to the lookout.
